Anita Hearns-Lix, the beloved wife and best friend of her husband Tom Lix, died peacefully in her sleep after a long illness. She is survived by her children Electra (Davis), Meagan (Lefebvre), Dylan Updyke, Andrew Lix and Moira (Carter) as well as her loved and cherished grandchildren Lydia, Jayna, Owen, Jolie, Devlin and Andrew Junior. She’d want to also mention her children (through marriage), John Davis, Keith Lefebvre, Kim Lix and Jason Carter. She’d say it was important and that they’re all a loved part of her family. Wait, we’re not done yet. Of course, she’d also want to tell us about her two ever so special dogs Bentley and Annie (her “kids”) and her quite talented Amazon Parrot MacGregor. Born in the Bronx, a long-term resident of New Hampshire and then a late in life transplant to Cleveland, Anita was curious, courageous, compassionate and generous. She had a wry sense of humor, laughed at her husband’s jokes (not always) and simply cared about people and animals alike. She was very proud to have been a veterinary nurse, a mother and stepmother, a vocal progressive as well as health care volunteer. Anita only recently turned 65, she will be missed. Forever and a day.
